The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board's Crisis Care Program in Annandale needs help getting their healing and vegetable gardens ready for spring.

Join us on Saturday, April 14, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help clean up the outdoor space. Tasks include:

• Picking up sticks, limbs, branches and trash.
• Weeding, raking, spreading leaf mulch and wood chips.
• Prepping the garden for planting.
• Other related duties.

Last year, volunteers dedicated over 1,000 hours to create a set of three gardens that would help people in the Crisis Care program find comfort and serenity in their time of crisis. With dedicated spaces, clients receiving crisis care are able to experience feelings of calmness and safety among colorful blooms and fragrant blossoms.

Woodburn Place Crisis Care is a 16-bed regional facility that offers a community alternative to psychiatric hospitalization for Northern Virginia residents. Services are accessed through local Community Services Boards.

Operated by the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board, Woodburn Place Crisis Care offers short-term crisis stabilization services for men and women with severe and persistent mental illness and for individuals with substance use disorders.
