Voter Registration Training

Voter Registration Drives
Are you planning a voter registration drive or event? There are steps you or your organization must take when requesting more than 25 registration forms: (Code of Virginia § 24.2-416.6.)

  • Complete training provided by the Virginia Department of Elections (online).

  • Sign the application request and affidavit to abide by all Virginia laws and rules regarding the registration of voters.

Important

  • No individual or group shall compensate its volunteers or employees based on of the number of completed voter registration applications the volunteer or employee collects. 

  • No volunteer or employee of an individual or group shall accept compensation based on the number of completed voter registration applications they collect. 

  • Certification expires each year on June 30 and may be renewed by completing training annually.
