Reminder About Inclement Weather Policies

  • If schools are closed due to inclement weather, then CYF transportation service is CANCELLED.
  • If schools are delayed two hours, then all school transportation runs will be delayed two hours, and all other transportation requests will begin at 11 a.m.
  • If schools close early, CYF transportation will pick up the children from school at the time of closure. All trips that have not been started will be cancelled and trips that need to return, the children, youth, and/or family members will be returned early.
  • If inclement weather occurs and it’s not a scheduled business day for the County’s bus system, based on road conditions and government delays or closings, we will follow the above guidelines.
  • If there are school closings in other localities, transportation will be cancelled in those localities.
  • Should any school or service locality outside of Fairfax County have a delay, the Human Services Transportation Operations Manager will contact the CYF Program Manager to recommend transportation options in the affected area.
  • Please note, transportation to court will continue unless the courts are closed or delayed.

Family Partnership Meetings

  • If Fairfax County Government is granted Unscheduled or Emergency Administrative Leave, FPM’s will not be held that day, and you will receive a phone call or email from your child’s case manager to reschedule.
  • If Fairfax County Government grants delayed arrival (delays the start of the workday), morning FPM’s will not be held. We will do our best to accommodate afternoon and evening meetings depending on facilitator availability.
