Ready, Set, Go to the Regional Job Fair!

Join us for a Ready, Set, Go to the Regional Job Fair workshop on Thursday, May 1, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., or Friday, May 2, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. This virtual session will guide attendees through key strategies for a productive and successful experience for the May 9th Regional Job Fair, including preparation tips, navigating the event effectively, approaching target companies, and following up with employers afterward. Register to attend. (select May 2025 to see available dates). You do not need to attend both sessions.


Talent Tuesdays: Conversation with a Recruiter

Connect with Theresa Mazzaro, Recruitment Manager from Fairfax Radiology Centers, to review resume tips, interviewing techniques, and best practices on how to represent yourself when applying to jobs. This virtual event will be held on Tuesday, May 6th from 12 - 1 p.m. and is open to all jobseekers. Join meeting!

Past Job Fairs and Events

A Recruiting Manager shared best practices to support a successful job search and how to represent yourself professionally when applying and completing the hiring process.

DFS Employment & Training staff spoke to nearly 100 job seekers at the Empower & Elevate Employment Resource Fair and shared information about our workforce development resources and programs. Hosted by Fairfax County Neighborhood & Community Services, Faith Communities in Action, and Mt. Olive Baptist Church, the event helped an estimated 160 job seekers connect with employers and local government agencies. 

Attendees met with more than 30 local government employers hiring in and around Loudoun County. Hosted by Loudoun Workforce Resource Center, this event connected job seekers with diverse opportunities across Northern Virginia.

Our Employment & Training Career Specialists spoke to over 200 teens about exciting opportunities and strategies to build experience and skills and start a resume. Early preparation is key to future success, and we have lots of resources to help youth get ahead.  This job fair was hosted by Supervisor Pat Herrity, Fairfax County Times Newspapers, and Fairfax County Public Schools.

The Mather hosted a job fair hiring new or experienced healthcare professionals for positions such as Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), and Certified Nursing Assistance (CNA). The Mather is a senior living facility in McLean, VA and is a valued partner of Employer Engagement. 

preschool teacher with childrenEmployer Engagement partnered with Fort Belvoir to host a hiring event seeking childcare professionals and teaching assistants. Fort Belvoir Child and Youth Services has worked with Employer Engagement for the past two years to facilitate a smooth interview and hiring process at multiple hiring events. At the February 19th hiring event, Fort Belvoir extended 34 job offers on the spot to qualified candidates.

SCSEP Staff at job fairThe Northern Virginia Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP) Career Fair connected 79 mature job seekers with employers across the region. SCSEP places mature workers in paid training and development opportunities to prepare for permanent employment. Participants valued the opportunity to speak directly with 7 regional employers and 5 community agencies about job placements. The Northern Virginia SCSEP Program is delivered in close coordination with The SkillSource Group, Inc. and the Virginia Career Works Northern Region.

Harris Teeter was looking to fill a variety of managerial roles and other positions in stores across northern Virginia. Virginia Career Works Northern and Fairfax County Employment Services worked closely with Harris Teeter to host a job fair, advertising across multiple platforms to attract job seekers with the type of expertise and interest needed. Utilizing interviews with hiring managers and on-the-spot job offers, the fair resulted in a 42% job offer rate across managerial and entry-level positions.

The ELEVATE Healthcare Job Fair connected job seekers with top healthcare employers in the region to learn about career paths in the field and explore a wide range of open roles. Featured employers included Inova Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Kaiser Permanente, Sentara Health, UVA Community Health, Fairfax Radiology Centers, Decena Home Care, Employment Enterprises, Inc., Ingleside Engaged Living, Maxim Healthcare Services, NVT Staffing, Prince William County, and The Medical Team.
