This difficult situation had endangered Johnny's safety and well-being to the point that an intervention was necessary. Johnny was referred to Child Find to treat developmental delays identified early during his placement in foster care. This therapy supported Johnny's developmental needs.

Johnny’s mom was determined to make a change, and she began to actively engage in court-ordered services to address the issues that led to Johnny entering care. She participated in substance abuse treatment, anger management classes, and domestic violence courses with the hope of bettering herself and getting her son back home.

Johnny’s mom stayed in communication with their foster care practitioner and consistently attended supervised visitations. She sought feedback during these visits to improve her parenting and engagement skills.

Johnny’s mother made remarkable progress throughout the case. She completed her substance abuse treatment, followed by anger management and domestic violence courses. Her successes significantly improved her self-image and her knowledge and ability when it comes to setting healthy boundaries in relationships.

Within a year, Johnny safely returned to his mother’s care. To ensure ongoing support, the foster care practitioner arranged community services including continued developmental assistance through Child Find and subsidized child care to support Johnny's socialization and development.

This loving mother learned to establish healthy boundaries, and she demonstrated improved parenting skills, creating a stable and nurturing environment for Johnny. This outcome reflects a successful reunification for this family and highlights their ability to overcome challenges and thrive together.
