Thank you for your interest in being a participating lender with Fairfax County Homebuyer Programs.
The Homeownership Division of the Department of Housing and Community Development offers two primary programs for prospective homebuyers, the First-Time Homebuyers Program and the Workforce Dwelling Unit Homebuyer Program. For sale housing units in these programs are provided through the Fairfax County Affordable Dwelling Unit and the Workforce Dwelling Unit Programs. The requirements and policies governing these programs are incorporated in Article 2 of the Fairfax County Zoning Ordinance. When referencing these policies, please visit the sections outlined below:
- Affordable Dwelling Unit Program (Article 2, Part 8)
- Workforce Dwelling Unit Program (Article 2, Part 11)
In addition to the above governing policy, we encourage you to review the following resources as well:
- Fairfax County Homeownership Program Lender Standards
- Affordable Dwelling Unit Covenants. Please note in particular Article II for controls regarding lending, financing, foreclosure and repurchase rights of the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority. You may also consider having your underwriters review them as well to ensure they are willing to underwrite loans with these restrictions.
