Fairfax County will launch the third phase (Release 3) of the new Planning and Land Use System (PLUS) in January 2022. 

PLUS will serve as Fairfax County’s central platform for customers to complete zoning, building, permitting and other land development processes.

Multiple transactions have already moved to the new PLUS platform. To see transactions already accessible via PLUS, visit the PLUS Support Center.

Release 3 will add the following transactions into the PLUS platform: 

• Fire and Rescue
  • Fire Prevention Code Permits: Short-term/Single-Use, Renewable (112 sub-types), Inspections Not Associated with a Permit, Amendments, and Time Accounting 
• Planning and Development
  • Architectural Review Board, Minor Variation, Interpretations of Approved Zoning, Model Home Sales and Leasing Office, Farmers’ Market, Special Event, Seasonal Sales Commercial, Construction Site Office and Storage, and Request for Additional Time to Commence Development
• Land Development Services
  • Household Appliance permitting and inspections and Home Improvement Contractor License (HIC) Renewal
