November Green Breakfast - Managing Deer on an Urban Landscape: Partnerships as a Pathway to Success

Why do we need to "manage deer"? What are the signs that it's time for human intervention? Which management strategies have been successful in the past? In this virtual Green Breakfast, speakers from the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, Arlington Regional Master Naturalists, and the Fairfax County Police Department will answer these questions, discuss the roles their various organizations play in the management of deer populations, and outline how citizens can use their voice to initiate changes they want to see.

Speakers include Jordan Green, Terrestrial District Biologist at the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources; Bill Browning, Public Education and Outreach Committee Chair, Arlington Regional Master Naturalists; and Dr. Katherine Edwards, Wildlife Management Specialist, Fairfax County Police Department.

NVSWCD's popular Green Breakfasts are now virtual! All Green Breakfast webinars begin at 9:00am and are hosted on Teams.
