Project Background

In November 2014, a Citizens Information Meeting was held to discuss the project design and collect feedback from the community. The design plans have been approved by all necessary agencies and project construction is estimated to begin in October 2016 and end in April 2017. The construction estimate for the project is $565,000.

The improvements include new sidewalk, curb ramps, pavement, and storm drain at the intersection. Several crosswalks will be realigned, minor roadway improvements will be made, and a new concrete bus pad will be provided at the site. After the improvements are made, VDOT plans to rebuild the existing traffic signal and provide pedestrian signals for the intersection.
