Old Dominion/Linway/Birch Intersection

Project Background

Old Dominion/Linway/Birch IntersectionThe intersection at Old Dominion/Linway/Birch included many upgrades, including new sidewalk, curb ramps, pavement, and storm drain at the intersection. Several crosswalks were realigned, minor roadway improvements were made, and a new concrete bus pad was provided at the site. VDOT rebuilt the traffic signal and added pedestrian signals to the intersection. Construction costs for the project were estimated at $565,000.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Community Meeting Information

Dranesville District Supervisor John W. Foust and the Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) held a Pardon Our Dust meeting for the Old Dominion Drive/Linway Terrace/Birch Road Pedestrian Intersection Improvements on Thursday, September 22, 2016, 7 p.m., at Chesterbrook Elementary School, 1753 Kirby Road, McLean, in the cafeteria. The project will provide a pedestrian facility throughout the intersection, connecting to existing sidewalks at Birch Road and St. John Catholic Church. Supervisor Foust and FCDOT held a Citizens Information Meeting in November 2014 to discuss the project and collect feedback from the community.
