Project News and Updates

The Fairfax County Department of Transportation is proposing to reconfigure Prosperity Avenue between Hillside Road and Gallows Road in Providence District by repurposing two of the four lanes of traffic with protected bike lanes.

Project design was funded through the Metropolitan Washington Council of Government's (MWCOG) Transit Within Reach program. Other benefits of road diets include safety improvements, traffic calming, and better mobility access for all road users.
