Supplier Diversity

Fairfax County is dedicated to enhancing the participation of all suppliers in order to spark innovation, strengthen engagement, and drive continuous improvement. The Department of Purchasing and Supply Management’s Supplier Diversity Program undertakes every effort to include Small, Women-owned, and Minority-owned (SWaM) businesses in the procurement process.

There are no preferences or set-aside programs for SWaM businesses in Fairfax County. The Supplier Diversity program focuses on engagement with the business community with the goal to increase participation of Small, Women-owned, and Minority-owned businesses in the procurement process. The program also recognizes classifications of SWaM business enterprises that are certified by other agencies. Businesses seeking certification in programs such as SWaM, DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise), NMSDC (National Minority Supplier Development Council), etc. can find the information below.

B2B Connect – eVA (Virginia’s electronic procurement system) has launched a new online feature to make it easier for businesses to find partners and establish relationships when competing for government contracts. Whether it’s a large business looking for subcontracting partners, a small business looking to fulfill a specific portion of a large project, or even several small businesses partnering together, B2B Connect creates an online space for businesses to meet, connect, and collaborate.
