CoC Meetings

The goal of the CoC (Continuum of Care) Meeting is to connect partners in the Fairfax-Falls Church Community to build and strengthen common understanding of homeless system initiatives and performance outcomes. Information on the CoC Meetings can be found below. 

August 28, 2024 | 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM (Microsoft Teams Virtual Meeting) – In this virtual meeting the Office to Prevent and End Homelessness (OPEH) presented information about new Continuum of Care (CoC) funding and renewals.  OPEH also presented information on the application and submission process for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s CoC Builds funding opportunity.

May 17, 2024 | 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM (Microsoft Teams Virtual Meeting) – In this virtual meeting the Office to Prevent and End Homelessness presented the results of the 2024 Point-in-Time Count. There was a demonstration of the Continuum of Care Partners Portal and its resources. And a Board Member from Gracing Spaces spoke about the organization.

August 4, 2023 |  9:30 AM to 11:00 AM (Microsoft Teams Virtual Meeting) In this virtual meeting information about new CoC funding and renewals was presented.

July 14, 2022 | 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM (Microsoft Teams Virtual Meeting) - In this virtual meeting, an overview of the Continuum of Care (CoC) will be provided, including a review of the Point-in-Time (PIT) Count and System Performance Measure Dashboards as well as the results of the Youth PIT Count. The role of the Continuum of Care Committee and the Office to Prevent and End Homelessness will be reviewed along with several homeless services system initiatives, including the rapid rehousing response to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

January 12, 2022 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Microsoft Teams Virtual Meeting) - In this virtual meeting, the Regional Racial Equity Assessment findings were presented by C4 Innovations and the Racial Equity Action Council (REAC) members. The presentation included an overview of the methodology used in the assessment process, identified racial disparities, data gaps, as well as regional trends, strengths, and challenges specific to each jurisdiction.

July 8, 2021 | 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Microsoft Teams Virtual Meeting) - In this virtual meeting, the newly developed Point-in-Time Count and System Performance Measure dashboards were presented. Several homeless services system initiatives were highlighted, including Built for Zero (BFZ), the Regional Racial Equity Initiative, as well as the announcement of the Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHVs). A summary of the unprecedented federal funding available nationally for homeless services was provided and an overview of the new Continuum of Care (CoC) Committee was also shared, which will assume the role of the CoC Governance. 

July 7, 2020 | 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Microsoft Teams Virtual Meeting) - In this virtual meeting, the leadership within the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development was introduced, the new departmental home to the Office to Prevent and End Homelessness as of July 1, 2020. The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development shared a state-wide data integration project and the Office to Prevent and End Homelessness reviewed the latest Point-in-Time Count, Housing Inventory Count, and System Performance Measure data.

December 10, 2019 | 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Mount Vernon Government Center, 2511 Parkers Lane Mount Vernon, VA 22306) - Race Forward, an organization whose mission is to catalyze movement building for racial justice, led a full-day racial equity training for direct service providers and leadership within the Continuum of Care.

June 13, 2019 | 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM (Pennino Building, 12011 Government Center Pkwy, Suite #942 Fairfax, VA 22035) - This meeting focused on the System Performance Measures, presented by ICF Homeless Services Principal. Local data related to "rare, brief, and one-time," was shared and current partnership updates and initiatives were presented.
