No, we do not carry a sidearm. We are issued pepper spray, a baton, and handcuffs. We are also trained on the less than lethal shotgun.

Provide 288 volunteer hours per year, averaging 24 hours per month.

As volunteers, Auxiliary Police Officers are not paid. However, every Auxiliary gets a $400 uniform cleaning allowance per year. In addition, if an Auxiliary lives in Fairfax County and has an automobile under the Auxiliary's name, the county waives the property tax on that vehicle.
