Information Technology Division
The Information Technology Division helps the Fairfax County Police Department use modern, reliable, and secure technology to better serve our community. As a support unit for almost every aspect of the FCPD, the ITD ensures officers and staff have the tools they need to respond quickly, work efficiently, and keep the community safe.
The Division's various teams support mission‑critical communication systems such as radios, mobile devices, and advanced networking. They also maintain the computers, servers, and equipment that power daily operations. The ITD oversees body‑worn cameras, in‑car video, and other digital evidence tools that promote transparency. The Division provides mapping solutions, data services, and database management to support informed decision‑making across the department. It also manages key systems including the Records Management System and electronic summons applications.
The Division is responsible for arranging the testing, validation, and eventual deployment of cutting-edge technologies that enhance the FCPD's delivery of world-class public safety services to Fairfax County.
