EQAC Meeting – January 10, 2024

The Environmental Quality Advisory Council (EQAC) will meet on January 10, 2024, at 7:15 PM in Conference Room 4/5 of the Government Center.

The Fairfax County Environmental Quality Advisory Council (EQAC) is appointed by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to advise on environmental matters. The public is encouraged to attend EQAC’s public comment meeting to share views on the state of the environment and to identify environmental issues of concern applicable to Fairfax County.

While the timing of the public comment meeting tends to coincide with the publication of EQAC’s Annual Report on the Environment, the public comment meeting is not intended to focus on the Annual Report. Instead, the purpose of the meeting is to solicit the public’s views and concerns regarding environmental issues. EQAC welcomes in-person, virtual, written, and video testimony. Please limit comments to three minutes in length. For more information on how to provide testimony, please view the Public Comment Meeting flyer or the information boxes below.

Ways to Provide Testimony

To testify at the meeting, please sign up in advance to be added to the speakers list. Please call the Fairfax County Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination at 703-324-7136, TTY 711 or send an email to EQAC@fairfaxcounty.gov by 5:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024, to be added to the speakers list. You may also appear at the meeting and be heard. Please limit comments to three minutes in length.

To testify at the meeting virtually, by audio or video conferencing options through Zoom, please sign up to testify by 5:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. You can do so by calling the Fairfax County Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination at 703-324-7136, TTY 711 or by sending an email to EQAC@fairfaxcounty.gov. Please limit comments to three minutes in length.

To submit written comments please send them via email to EQAC@fairfaxcounty.gov by 5:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Please include your full name, address, and phone number with your submission.

Upload your video (three minutes or less) to YouTube, Ustream or Vimeo, and send the video URL to EQAC@fairfaxcounty.gov, by 5:00 p.m. January 5, 2024. Videos will be screened prior to the meeting. Each video must address one or more environmental topics. Any submission containing profanity or other objectionable material will not be presented at the public comment meeting. You will be notified if county staff determine that your video is unsuitable for presentation.
