Joyful Hands, a 501c3 organization and Fairfax County Health Department partner, held their 1^st annual awards banquet on July 22, 2023, at Gerry Hyland Government Center. Joyful Hands is a global powerhouse supporting health and educational initiatives both here in Fairfax County and on the continent of Africa. 

In their 18 months of existence, Joyful Hands has partnered with the WISH center, ICNA Relief and various houses of worship to promote health literacy, supply food, and distribute school supplies and laptops to 1300 area students.

Attendees and speakers included Erika Logan-Gales, Outreach and Engagement Supervisor and keynote speaker, Franconia Supervisor Rodney Lusk. On hand to offer words of encouragement, Claudia Morcelo, Outreach and Engagement Supervisor. Joyful Hands honored the work of Senior Community Health Specialist Frank Owusu and Community Health Specialist Mariama Kalokoh for their tireless efforts and outreach work in the African community. Attendees were treated with performances and a buffet dinner.
