Outpatient mental health and substance use treatment

Note: Some information on this page may require you to copy and paste the link in your browser.

Outpatient treatment services are for children and youth who are experiencing mental health challenges, using substances or who have a co-occurring disorder (mental health/substance use).

Services include individual, group and family counseling, and take place in the community where the child lives. If necessary, services can include medication management.

It is highly recommended when searching for a service provider that you choose someone who uses evidenced-based practices. These are therapeutic techniques that have been shown through research to be most effective. Always ask your provider what evidenced based techniques they use.
