The Housing Choice Voucher program provides participants with more opportunities to live near work, schools, transportation hubs, houses of worship, and other amenities. By utilizing funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to cover part of the cost of rent for lower-income households, landlords enjoy reliable rental income for their properties despite economic fluctuations.

Things to Know

How Property Owners Get Paid

Payments are issued the first business day of the month. The Housing Choice Voucher program issues payments once a month on the 1st business day on or after the 1st of each month. The Housing Choice Voucher contract allows the PHA 60 days to initiate the initial Housing Assistance Payment (HAP). However, timely submission of requested paperwork will expedite this process, and once the initial payment is set up, you will receive your payment as scheduled monthly.

Direct Deposit is Mandatory
