TENANT SELECTION
Landlords can select Housing Choice Voucher tenants in the same way they screen and select other tenants. If the landlord agrees to accept the program participant:
- The landlord and tenant must complete the Request for Tenancy Approval Form and submit it to the FCRHA. The FCRHA will review the request, determine if the requested rent is "rent reasonable” and if the unit is affordable for the family.
- If the above criteria are met, the FCHRA will conduct an initial Housing Quality Standards inspection.
- Once the unit passes inspection:
- The landlord and the tenant will sign the landlord’s lease agreement
- The landlord and the FCRHA will sign a Housing Assistance Payment Contract which identifies the total rent and the portions paid by the tenant and the FCRHA.
- Landlords must submit an ACH Direct Deposit Authorization Form to set up direct deposit of the subsidized portion of the rent.
