Virtual Programs and How-To Videos

Stuck inside on a cold winter day? That’s a perfect time to explore the library’s digital programs and online activities for kids, including an assortment of free maker videos created by our youth services librarians. Visit our Kids Digital Programs and Online Activities guide to start the fun with:

  • Crafts – Tap into your creative side and learn how to make projects such as eggshell sidewalk chalk, catapults, mobiles and faerie houses and gnome homes.
  • Cooking – Explore your inner chef and learn how to cook guacamole, lettuce wraps, rainbow layered lemonade, ice cream in a bag and more.

Do More With Databases

The library’s online databases offer even more maker ideas and activities. Visit our A-Z Online Resources for Children at bit.ly/online-resources-children, and check out the “Best Bets” featured at the top of the list. All you need is a library card to access hours of fun!

  • Early World of Learning offers coloring and paint-by-number activities for grades K-3.
  • Search “How to Make” in Scholastic Go! for a list of more than 100 maker activities ranging from slime and origami to peanut butter.
