Come and explore careers in law enforcement for women. Learn first-hand about core police functions and meet today's women leaders in law enforcement in Fairfax County. Explore what it takes to become a police officer and skills you will learn in the police academy. Discover your potential to become a future woman leader in law enforcement.

Eligibility

This program is offered free of charge and is open to all Northern Virginia high school-age girls (public, private, or home-schooled) entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grades during the 2026-2027 school year.

Class size is limited. While many students provide their own transportation, assistance can be offered to those who need it on a case-by-case basis to meet the needs of our large community. Details

Classes will be held July 27 – 31, 2026:

  • Monday through Friday at Fairfax County Public Safety Headquarters (12099 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA)
  • Participants are expected to attend all classes
  • Application deadline is July 13, 2026
