Due to the age and condition of the existing pump station structure, the County is initiating a preliminary study to evaluate the option of replacing the current pump station with a new facility constructed on the same parcel.
Project Description
The scope of work for this project will include professional engineering services to develop the Long Branch Pump Station Replacement Preliminary Engineering Report (PER). The PER will identify feasible options to replace the Long Branch Pump Station at its existing site to ensure long-term reliability of the facility, with the new station connecting to the existing force main and gravity sewer. The PER will evaluate pump station configurations that improve operations, maintenance, and facilitate future rehabilitation. It will present viable alternatives and design recommendations based on lifecycle cost, constructability, and Fairfax County preferences. The results of this evaluation will guide final design decisions and operational strategies.
