DPWES Projects

The Department of Public Works and Environmental Services (DPWES) builds and maintains safe, reliable infrastructure that protects public health and the environment, improves quality of life for residents. Capital Facilities refers to the construction of publicly-funded governmental facility projects such as libraries, courts, police and fire stations, and infrastructure improvement projects such as roads, sanitary sewer extensions, walkways, bus stop shelters and storm water management improvement projects.

Tucker Avenue Neighborhood Stormwater Improvement Project Tucker Avenue Neighborhood Stormwater Improvement Project This neighborhood stormwater improvement project will evaluate existing drainage and stormwater infrastructure throughout the neighborhoods in the vicinity of Tucker Avenue and within a 67 acre drainage area that leads to the local stream, Pimmit Run. Turkeycock Creek at Bren Mar Park Turkeycock Creek at Bren Mar Park This project proposes the restoration and stabilization of a portion of Turkeycock Run which travels through Bren Mar Park in Alexandria, Virginia. Stormwater Projects Mason District
Tysons Fire Station #29 and Bus Transit Facility Tysons Fire Station #29 and Bus Transit Facility The new fire station is proposed to be a two-story, approximate 20,000 square foot (SF), five-bay station; and the new bus transit facility is a one-story, approximately 2,100 SF, five bay bus transit facility.
