DPWES Projects

The Department of Public Works and Environmental Services (DPWES) builds and maintains safe, reliable infrastructure that protects public health and the environment, improves quality of life for residents. Capital Facilities refers to the construction of publicly-funded governmental facility projects such as libraries, courts, police and fire stations, and infrastructure improvement projects such as roads, sanitary sewer extensions, walkways, bus stop shelters and storm water management improvement projects.

Tysons Fire Station #29 and Bus Transit Facility Tysons Fire Station #29 and Bus Transit Facility The new fire station is proposed to be a two-story, approximate 20,000 square foot (SF), five-bay station; and the new bus transit facility is a one-story, approximately 2,100 SF, five bay bus transit facility. Tysons Wastewater Conveyance Systems Modifications Project Tysons Wastewater Conveyance Systems Modifications Project There are three main components to this long-term project: the gravity sewer collection system; the pump station; and the pressurized (force main) sewer collection system. Valley Avenue Neighborhood Stormwater Improvements Valley Avenue Neighborhood Stormwater Improvements This project will evaluate existing drainage and stormwater infrastructure in the vicinity of Valley and Fairview Avenues and Cross Street. Vienna-Carter (formerly Patrick Henry) Library Vienna-Carter (formerly Patrick Henry) Library Replacement of the existing library with an expanded State-of-the-Art one-story library and a new four-level parking garage located at 101 Maple Avenue, Vienna, Virginia.
