DO
Empty into custodial sinks or toilets.
DON'T
Empty onto pavement or storm drains.
DO
Direct wash water to grassy area or contain it onsite. Protect storm drains.
DON'T
Direct wash water onto pavement or into storm drains.
DO
Keep dumpster lids closed, keep area around dumpsters clean, report leaking dumpsters.
DON'T
Keep dumpster open, let dumpsters overflow, dispose of liquids in leaking dumpsters.
DO
Shovel first, then evenly apply deicer only on slick spots. A 12 oz mug of salt is enough for 10 sidewalk squares. Sweep up any spilled salt or deicer.
DON'T
Overapply, dump, store deicer materials outdoors uncovered, or apply near storm drains.
