On August 22, 2024, a Sheriff’s deputy found a 24-year-old male inmate unresponsive in his cell at the Adult Detention Center (ADC) and announced a medical emergency. Additional deputies and medical staff immediately responded to render aid. Rescue was called and responded. The inmate was pronounced deceased at the ADC.

Per Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office policy, all in-custody deaths are investigated by the Fairfax County Police Department. The FCPD was notified immediately and responded to the ADC.
