The Fairfax Community Criminal Justice Board (CCJB) was established to enhance the ability of Fairfax County and Fairfax City to develop pretrial court services, community-based corrections programs, juvenile accountability and other criminal justice programs. These programs are consistent with the Comprehensive Community Corrections Act, the Pretrial Services Act and the Juvenile Accountability Block Grant Program. The CCJB holds foremost the interests and concerns of the residents of Fairfax County and Fairfax City. It assists the appropriate County and City officials, including the Board of Supervisors and City Council, in matters affecting the criminal justice system, especially in making recommendations for improvements and innovations and enhancing the quality and availability of services. The CCJB facilitates local involvement and flexibility in responding to the problem of crime in the communities it serves. It also reviews the submission of all criminal justice grants approved by the Board of Supervisors or the City Council, regardless of the source of funding.
Meetings
Regular public meetings of the CCJB are held on the fourth Thursday of each month (except July and August) from 8-10 a.m. in the fifth floor Circuit Court jury assembly area of the Fairfax County Courthouse.
Ian Rodway staffs the CCJB and can be reached at 703-246-3247 (TTY 711 for hearing impaired).
