On Monday, March 31, 2025, a Fairfax County Sheriff's Deputy found a male inmate unresponsive in his cell at the Adult Detention Center (ADC). The deputy announced a medical emergency. Additional deputies and medical staff responded to render aid. Rescue was called and continued life-saving efforts upon their arrival. The inmate was pronounced deceased at 6:41 p.m.

Per Fairfax County Sheriff's Office policy, all in-custody deaths are investigated by the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD). The FCPD was notified immediately and responded to the ADC.
