Scholarships are available to high school seniors or college freshmen planning to study conservation or environment-related fields from the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts Educational Foundation. Applications are due April 1, 2025.
Students from across Virginia attend this summer camp to learn about natural resources. Held July 13-19, 2025 on the Virginia Tech campus. NVSWCD offers financial aid to help students attend camp. Applications due April 20th, 2025.
Open to K-12 students with patches available for scouts who participate. Categories include hand drawn posters, digital art, and new categories for braille and additional assist. The 2025 theme is "Home is Where the Habitat is".
In this competition, 5-member teams of high school students test their environmental science knowledge in aquatics, wildlife, forestry, soil science, and a special topic that changes each year. The 2023-2024 special topic is Renewable Energy for a Sustainable Future.
YCLI is a unique opportunity for high school students to receive experience and engage in networking opportunities to prepare them for future education and career paths. Participants learn about conservation and participate in a year-long project of their choice.
