Become a Mentor: Make a Difference
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Join our two-year mentoring program to empower kids ages 6 to 12. We are actively seeking dedicated volunteers like you to help guide, inspire, and support our youth as they navigate crucial developmental stages in their lives.
Why Mentoring Matters
Mentoring plays a vital role in the growth and development of children. From building self-esteem to promoting educational success, the influence of a caring adult can be transformative. By volunteering your time, you’ll be providing children with the support they need to overcome challenges, set goals, and realize their potential.
Your Role as a Mentor
As a mentor, you will be paired with a child based on proximity to your home (where possible), along with shared interests and backgrounds. Your role includes:
- Building Relationships: Create a trusting environment for open communication.
- Setting Goals: Helping your mentee set achievable personal, academic, and social goals.
- Encouraging Growth: Support them in developing skills and overcoming challenges.
- Engaging in Activities: Participate in fun, educational activities that promote learning.
Who Can Volunteer?
We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences, including students, professionals, and retirees. The ideal mentor is someone who is:
- Committed: Able to dedicate at least two years to nurturing a young person's growth.
- Compassionate: Genuinely interested in helping children succeed.
- Open-Minded: Ready to listen and understand diverse experiences.

Your commitment can change a life. By volunteering as a mentor, you are not just shaping a child’s future—you’re strengthening the fabric of our community. Join us in creating a brighter tomorrow for the next generation by becoming a mentor with BeFriend-A-Child!
