We live in a world powered by technology which is rapidly evolving. It plays a vital role in helping people stay connected and can make lives easier in a multitude of ways. Volunteer Solutions (VS) has tech-savvy IT On-Call volunteers who provide free technology assistance to Fairfax County residents (including those who live in the Cities of Falls Church and Fairfax). Volunteers support individuals aged 60 or older with minor technology issues or questions, including:
- Setting up computers, printers and email
- Using an iPhone or Android, Kindle, tablet
- Learning how to search online, grocery shop and stream entertainment
- Learning video-calling capabilities using a smartphone
- Using social media (WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
- Trouble shooting connectivity issues and malware
- Using Applications- Excel, Google Docs, Windows
