Help Spread Warmth and Cheer This Holiday Season
The holiday season is a time to spread joy and kindness with those around us. One of the most meaningful gifts we can offer is our support to those in need. As we gather with our loved ones, many of us reflect on ways to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
There are many older adults and adults with disabilities in our community facing challenges obtaining the basic necessities others take for granted. For these individuals, such essentials are not just needed but deeply appreciated.
To help spread holiday warmth, the Adult and Aging Division of Fairfax County's Department of Family Services is hosting a “Bundles of Comfort” Holiday Care Package Drive. These heartfelt care packages, filled with a new hat, scarf and mug and hygiene items, will be gifted to clients this holiday season. This year, we hope to bring smiles and warmth to 350 recipients through this effort – and we need your help to make it happen.
Donate Hygiene Items
Personal care items are essential and often overlooked – and they go a long way to improving the day-to-day lives of older adults and adults with disabilities. Browse and purchase from our Amazon Wishlist to contribute hygiene items that will directly benefit those in need.
Provide a “Bundle of Comfort”
Make the holiday season brighter by donating one or more complete Bundles of Comfort. Each bundle should include:
- A new hat
- A new scarf
- A microwave-safe mug (minimum 12 oz)
To ensure inclusiveness, we kindly ask for gender-neutral items and for mugs and apparel to exclude holiday or religious patterns.
Guidelines for “Bundles of Comfort”
To ensure your care package is thoughtful and accessible for all:
- All items must be new.
- Please keep products gender-neutral—avoid holiday or religious patterns.
- Mugs should be packaged carefully to avoid damage.
- Do NOT gift wrap the bundles.
Complete the donation form to sign up. A confirmation email will provide instructions for coordinating the delivery or drop-off of your donations.
Important Dates to Remember
All hygiene items and bundles must arrive at the Area Agency on Aging by Friday, November 21, 2025.
Every donation is a heartfelt reminder that our community values and cares for its older members and those living with disabilities. Whether it’s a soft scarf for warmth, a mug for a comforting drink, or a hygiene item for daily care, these contributions symbolize compassion, hope, and kindness. Together, we can make the holiday season a little brighter for those in our community!
