Medicare 101 Workshops, led by the Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP), are for individuals and their care partners who will soon be eligible for Medicare or have Medicare and would like to learn more about it. In-person workshops have limited seating. Registration is required. Registration for library events begins 30 days prior to the presentation date. The Birthday Rule is a new Virginia law that allows a person enrolled in a Medigap policy to change their Medigap policy during an annual 60-day open enrollment period, beginning on their birthday each year. The Birthday Rule creates a personalized enrollment window tied to each enrollee’s birthday.
