Overview
The Court Services Division (CSD) primarily provides pretrial evaluation services of incarcerated defendants so that judges and magistrates can make informed release decisions, provides pretrial community supervision to defendants awaiting trial, and supplies probation services to convicted misdemeanants and convicted non-violent felons (Class 5 and 6). Adult supervision services are also provided to the Circuit Court and the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court (JDRDC). Community supervision programs improve citizen outcomes, are cost avoidant, and improve equity. Citizens can more readily access treatment and services, maintain employment, housing, and family responsibilities, and maintain public safety, while reducing the Adult Detention Center (ADC) population.
