Latent TB Infection Treatment
If you have a positive TB test and no evidence of active TB disease, medication may be prescribed to you. The medication is taken to prevent progression to active TB disease. With Latent TB Infection, you will not have the symptoms of TB, but it is important to complete treatment to prevent you from becoming sick with TB disease in the future. It is easier to treat latent TB infection than TB disease, so be sure to follow your doctor’s orders for your treatment.
Active TB Disease Treatment
Active TB disease is treatable with medication prescribed by your doctor. It can be cured as long as you follow the treatment as prescribed. Treating active TB disease takes longer and can involve more factors than treating latent TB infection.
