The Third-Party Inspections Program permits private-sector inspection firms to perform footing and foundation inspections of residential projects (including retaining walls under 4 feet) that would otherwise be conducted by inspectors from Fairfax County Land Development Services. (Third party inspections are authorized through the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code).
