Town Meeting Banner

Dear Neighbor,

I invite you to join us for a Mount Vernon District (MVD) annual tradition – the 33rd Annual Town Meeting – on Saturday, February 1, 2020, from 7:45 a.m. – noon at Mount Vernon High School. Started by my predecessor Gerry Hyland, this community-wide event draws hundreds of people who are passionate about improving and engaging in our community. In addition to an Exhibit Hall with County and community service providers, special recognitions and Q & A’s with your local leaders, you will have the opportunity to meet our new Board Chairman Jeff McKay. The highlight of the morning is taking a “virtual flying tour” of all that is happening in the District.
Another annual tradition of TEAM MVD is to compile this newsletter to inform you of our accomplishments of the past year and our focus for the coming year. Please take a moment to view our photo collection of all the exciting activities in the District and mark your calendars for our 2020 events! We also invite you to drop us a line (MtVernon@FairfaxCounty.gov ) or give us a call (703-780-7518) and let us know what you think about this year’s annual Advisor. Your feedback is important to us!
I am honored to serve you for another four years and thank you for your support! With the 2020 Board transitions, I will be the Environmental and Audit Committee Chair and the Vice-Chair of the Economic Advisory Commission. I am passionate, determined and engaged in fighting to ensure each and every Mount Vernon neighbor and business has the opportunity to reach their full potential. TEAM MVD and I are committed to working with you to address your individual concerns, while working proactively with you and others to deliver a better quality of life for all residents.
Respectfully yours in public service,

Supervisor, Mount Vernon District
