The Municipal Solid Waste Sorting/Advanced Recycling Facility project is sponsored by the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services (DPWES) in accordance with the Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act of 2002, as amended (PPEA). Under the provisions of the PPEA, following acceptance of an unsolicited proposal, DPWES is inviting other private entities to submit competing proposals for simultaneous consideration, to develop a Solid Waste Sorting/Advanced Recycling Facility on County-owned property at the I-95 Landfill Complex in Lorton, VA.
