Beyoncé Concert
The Befriend-A-Child Mentoring Program was blessed with an amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity to send a mentor and mentee pair to sit front and center at Beyoncé’s Washington, D.C. performance! The show was almost rained out but despite the delays, the Befriend-A-Child program’s most recent program graduates, Zainna (mentee, left) and Karen (mentor, right) were ready and willing to weather the storm and sing-along with the famous pop star’s most memorable songs.
A special thanks to Volunteer & Partner Services’ longstanding donors, Information Technology Strategies who made sure that Karen and Zainna were so close to the stage that they could have reached out and touched one of the sequins of Beyoncé’s shimmering boots! This duo had a night to remember!
Kings Dominion
Another year strong and another amazing trip to King’s Dominion is in the books for the Befriend-A-Child Mentoring Program! The Mentors and Mentees of BeFriend were all smiles as they beat their feet on the streets of Kings Dominion! Between racing to ride as many roller coasters as possible to relaxing on the lazy river the day was a huge success!
Of course, this event would not have been possible without the support of our amazing donors! A huge round of applause is in order for Volunteer & Partner Services’ donors:
- Tim Barber covered the cost of the bus rental to and from the event.
- Tickets for Kids provided 25 entry tickets.
- SYTA Youth Foundation supplied the remaining 31 entry tickets and 56 meal vouchers.
