For the first time our Adopt-A-Family Holiday Program was able to serve the entire Department of Family Services for all child serving programs and the turnout was record-breaking!

In 2023 we surpassed all previous years with 529 donors helping to support 729 families with 1,394 children. None of this would be possible without you, the generous community within Fairfax County. We appreciate our volunteers, donors, and the caseworkers throughout all divisions of The Department of Family Services who coordinated gifts, services, and goods for families and children in need this year. Your compassion and openness will make the holidays brighter for many families.

This year we would like to highlight a few donors and their contributions to our programs.

Bill Grossman with St. Mark Catholic Church continued their annual tradition of adopting 60 children from our program. We appreciate their dedication to our program year after year.

Adopt-A-Family gift donations from LeidosRyan Goldman and his team with Leidos focused on adopting children with special needs to ensure families were able to access resources that their children require to meet their needs. Ryan and his team also brought an ice cream truck to our Reston office for the second year in a row. Staff and families alike enjoy this welcome holiday treat!

Matthew Smith with State Farm Insurance & Financial Services organized a charity golf tournament which helped to sponsor the children and families in our organization by raising money and collecting toys. Collectively, State Farm’s donations were valued at $10,000.

Nicole Mitchell coordinated with the Fairfax County Park Authority to donate $3,000 worth of toys, diapers, and wipes.

Each of the 529 donors made a lasting impact on the 729 families and 1,394 children who received toys, winter clothing, and essential items. Without your participation in our program, these families would have gone without this holiday season.

THANK YOU! to all our donors – individuals, private companies, local organizations, non-profits, faith-based groups, girl scout troops, universities, medical groups, sororities, and local schools. Our program would not continue to thrive and grow each year without the incredibly generous and supportive community that believes in giving back. We appreciate you all and look forward to breaking more records, serving additional families, and spreading even more joy in 2024!
