We are so thankful for our partnership with Tickets for Kids, whose mission is to provide equitable access for our most vulnerable youth to experiences that inspire hope, dreams, and achievements for a lifetime. Since our partnership began a year ago, Tickets for Kids has lived up to their mission and beyond by partnering with our BeFriend-A-Child Mentoring Program. 

Tickets for Kids provides free access for low-income and at-risk kids to attend the arts, cultural, educational, and athletic venues of their community. Our mentors, mentees, and their families have been treated to a wide variety of adventures including:

• Catching a local sports game with the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards.
• Cultural enrichment opportunities like taking in plays like The Snow Queen and Shout, Sister, Shout!
• Family fun experiences at the Circus Vasquez, and a challenging climbing course at Climb UPton.
• Educational experiences like the Children’s Science Center Lab, and the International Spy Museum.

All these different outings have allowed the children in our mentoring program to have experiences they may not have been able to otherwise. In this past year, Tickets for Kids has provided 130 tickets valued at $6,213.02.
