New Building

A commercial New Building permit is required for the following types of projects:

• New commercial building (footing/foundation, full commercial, garage, pool/bathhouse, shell only)
• New multi-family (building, floor, footing/foundation, garage, shell only, unit)
• Detached commercial structure (carport, garage, gazebo, greenhouse, shed, shell only)
• Commercial addition (canopy/awning, one story, second story over existing structure, shell only, two stories above)

Addition/Alteration

A commercial addition/alteration permit is required for the following projects:

• Interior Alterations
• Interior alterations for an existing tenant or owner
• Interior alterations with additional square footage
• Interior demolition
• Metal stud only
• Installation of modular furniture
• New tenant layout

Miscellaneous

A Commercial Miscellaneous permit is required for the following commercial projects:

Retaining Wall

A commercial Retaining Wall permit is required for construction of commercial retaining walls retaining more than four feet of unbalanced fill/earth or sheeting and shoring.

Demolition

A Commercial Demolition permit is required for the complete demolition of a commercial structure, partial demolition, and demolition of commercial pools.

Electrical

Commercial electrical permits, commonly referred to as “trades permits”, are required for heavy-up, new, repair or replacement projects.

Mechanical

Commercial mechanical permits, commonly referred to as “trades permits”, are required for  conversion, new, repair or replacement projects.

Plumbing

Commercial plumbing permits, commonly referred to as “trades permits,” are required for conversion, new, repair or replacement projects.

Solar

A commercial solar permit is required for roof mounted and free-standing solar panel installations.
