Help Support Families Served by Artemis House

The holiday season is a time for giving, and I'm inviting everyone to help make the holidays brighter for families receiving services from Artemis House Domestic Violence Shelter.

From November 6 through December 4, we're collecting food, household essentials, personal care products, and children's items to help ensure families have the supplies they need this holiday season.

There are two convenient ways to contribute!

Where to Donate

Mount Vernon District Governmental Center

November 6 – December 4

2511 Parkers Lane, Mount Vernon, VA

A donation bin is located outside my office. Stop by anytime to drop off your contributions.

Special Donation Weekend at Fresh World American & International Supermarket

Friday, November 20 – Sunday, November 22

7451 Mount Vernon Square Center, Alexandria, VA

We'll have donation bins inside Fresh World throughout the donation weekend. If you're stopping by to do your grocery shopping, consider picking up a few extra items to donate!

Requested Donation Items

We're collecting the following items to support individuals and families served by Artemis House Domestic Violence Shelter.

Baby & Toddler Foods

• Infant formula (sealed and unexpired, including standard and sensitive varieties)
• Baby food pouches and jars
• Baby cereal
• Toddler snacks, such as puffs and teething wafers

Children's Items

• Diapers and pull-ups, especially sizes 4, 5 and 6
• Baby wipes and diaper cream
• Baby bottles and sippy cups
• New socks and underwear in a range of sizes
• Infant and toddler car seats (new or gently used)

Pantry Staples

• Pasta and pasta sauce
• Canned vegetables, fruit, and beans
• Cooking oil and basic spices

Personal Care Items

• Full-size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and deodorant
• Hair care products for all hair types, including combs, brushes, and hair ties
• Lotion and lip balm

Household Items

• Dish sets
• Utensils
• Cleaning products, such as cleaning sprays and wipes
• Twin-size bedding and blankets
• Laundry detergent and fabric softener
