Board of Supervisors - Mount Vernon District Alert:
Join Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck, School Board Member Mateo Dunne, Neighborhood and Community Services, Lazera Ministries, ICNA, Libraries and the Lorton Community Action Center for a family-friendly day of fun! Enjoy free giveaways of school supplies, health screenings, free food, music, yard games, exhibitors, touch-a-truck and much more fun activities for students and families to enjoy before the start of the new school year!
A special highlight to this event is the Health & Human Services Fair that will include agencies such as the Fairfax County Health Department, Community Services Board (CSB), Inova Health System, Fairfax County Department of Family Services (DFS) and more. These agencies will share information about the services they provide to students, youth and families. They will also be onsite to assist with obtaining public assistance services such as Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, etc. and there will be health screenings provided by ICNA.
School Supply Giveaway Information:
School supplies are for Fairfax County residents only and proof of home address will be checked. Parents without children present will only receive ONE backpack. Parents with children present will receive one bag per child. School supplies will be given away on a first come, first served basis.
