Town Meeting Mailer 2026

Supervisor Dan Storck’s Advisor

Winter 2026

Dan Storck

Supervisor
Mount Vernon District
Fairfax County Board

Proudly serving
130,000
Mount Vernon
District Residents
for the last 10 years.

Previously represented Mount Vernon on the School Board for 12 years, including 3 terms as Chairman. It is an honor and privilege to represent you.

Dear MVD Neighbor,

Welcome to America’s 250th Anniversary year! We are kicking it off with one of our favorite Mount Vernon District (MVD) traditions, the 39th Annual MVD Town Meeting. Join us on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Mount Vernon High School, with live coverage on Channel 16 and Facebook, as we reflect on this past year’s accomplishments, highlight the District’s important role in our history and look ahead to what’s next for our community. The highlight of the event is connecting with hundreds of you, our highly engaged, well-informed and passionate residents and business owners. You will hear community updates, participate in Q&As with your local leaders, take a trip with us through the District and learn about the semiquincentennial celebrations happening this year. Come early to enjoy the popular exhibit hall featuring County and community services beginning at 8:30 a.m., followed by the official program at 10 a.m.

This year brought many exciting milestones. We reopened the Mount Vernon Rec Center, a facility that has been a beloved part of our community, and thanks to this renovation, will continue to bring joy for many years to come. We also kicked off celebrations for America’s 250th Anniversary with a presentation at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, commemorating when George Washington departed his home to answer the call to serve as Commander in Chief of the Continental Army, and reflecting on our nation’s story and the vital role our local historic sites play in it. Renovations continued at The Commons Mount Vernon (formerly OMVHS), which is set to reopen as a major community hub in winter 2027, providing residents a place to connect, co-create, collaborate and contribute. We also launched a brand-new event this year – Summer Palooza – on our MV Governmental Center campus, where thousands of you joined us to enjoy animals, music, food and interactive activities. In addition, we listened to you and brought back our popular shred event. If you have a community event, HOA meeting, religious service or any occasion you would like me to attend or make remarks, please contact my office.

This mailer is another of my annual commitments to you, keeping you informed of our key accomplishments of the past year and our focus and plans for the coming year. See inside for our 2025 photo highlights and mark your calendars for our 2026 events! Please contact my office at MTVernon@FairfaxCounty.gov or
703-780-7518 to tell us what you think of this year’s Advisor. Your feedback is important to us!

TEAM MVD and I are committed to working with you to address your individual concerns, deliver a better quality of life and ensure every Mount Vernon neighbor, community and business has the opportunity to reach their full potential, while making the Mount Vernon District the best place to live, learn, work and play!

Respectfully yours in public service,

Dan Storck
