Town Meeting Mailer 2021

Dear Neighbor,

I invite you to join us for a Mount Vernon District (MVD) annual tradition – the 34th Annual Town Meeting and the first fully Virtual Town Meeting – on Saturday morning, February 6, 2021, streaming on Channel 16 and Facebook. While 2021 will look different, we have been getting together for this community-wide event for too many years to let COVID-19 stop us and we look forward to engaging with hundreds of our highly informed, passionate residents. This year will include Q & A’s with your local leaders, special recognitions and information about County and community service providers. The highlight of the morning will be a “virtual flying tour” of all that is happening in the District – this year from your own living room!

Another annual tradition is to compile this newsletter to inform you of our key accomplishments of the past year and our focus for the coming year. Even with the pandemic, much has continued to happen! Please take a moment to view our photo collection and mark your calendars for our 2021 events! We invite you to contact us at MtVernon@FairfaxCounty.gov or 703-780-7518 to let us know what you think of this annual Advisor. Your feedback is important to us!

A global pandemic, economic shock, local and national marches for equity and reform, food and job insecurity and a presidential election like no other, marked 2020! Through it all, we have persevered as friends and neighbors do, supporting and raising each other up. We are #FairfaxStrong! While 2020 was the Year of the Woman and COVID-19, I look forward to 2021 being the Year of the Vaccine, Economic Recovery and Climate Action! TEAM MVD and I are committed to working with you to address your individual concerns, deliver a better quality of life and ensure every Mount Vernon neighbor, community and business has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Respectfully yours in public service,

Supervisor, Mount Vernon District
