The Fairfax County Police Department K-9 Unit consists of 15 full-time handlers and 19 highly trained K-9s providing 24-hour, year-round coverage throughout the county. The unit supports patrol operations through criminal apprehension, firearm recovery, narcotics detection, and searches for missing or endangered persons using specialized bloodhounds.
