Thanks to the generosity and compassion of our dedicated donors, 783 Fairfax County children entered the school year ready to face the challenges ahead. The Department of Family Services’ Volunteer and Partner Services program collected the donations through its annual school supply drive to benefit children involved with DFS Children, Youth, and Families programs. What an amazing opportunity to support families by making a profound investment in a child’s educational journey!
Some donation items included:
- 783 backpacks stuffed with grade-appropriate supplies.
- Thousands of notebooks, pencils, pens, and markers.
- Dozens of calculators and digital tools.
- Extracurricular items such as sketch pads and art supplies.
- Lunchboxes and water bottles.
- Handwritten notes of encouragement.
