39th Annual Town Meeting

Thank you to everyone that joined us in celebrating America's 250th Birthday at the 39th Annual Mount Vernon District Town Meeting!

 

When: Saturday, February 7, 2026

Where: Mount Vernon High School & Live Virtually on Channel 16, the County's Livestream and Facebook

Times: 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. - Exhibit Hall Open

            10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Speakers, Audience Q&A’s and Virtual Tour

At the meeting attendees had the opportunity to meet their Supervisor and many local leaders. Attendees had their questions answered, learned about important issues and connected with County agencies and service providers at our very popular Exhibit Hall. 

This year’s meeting was especially meaningful as we celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary! We welcomed a very special guest: George Washington himself—who helped us reflect on our shared history and the future of the Mount Vernon District. We will also had a 250th Experience booth put together by Celebrate Fairfax and the 250th Commission. 

Exhibit Hall: 8:30 – 10 a.m.

  • Dozens of County agencies and local service providers
  • 250th Experience with George Washington

Official Program: 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

  • Updates on projects, services, and priorities across the Mount Vernon District
  • Annual video with reflections on the past year and a look ahead at what’s next
  • A special historical appearance honoring America’s 250th with George Washington
  • Q&A with local leaders

Prefer not to join us in-person this year and want to watch it now or later? The Town Meeting will stream live on Channel 16 and Facebook. You can ask questions during the Q & A sessions by emailing us or commenting on Facebook. Have plans for Saturday and want to watch it later? The video will remain on Facebook and Youtube for viewing at your convenience and replay on Channel 16. The broadcast will have Spanish closed captioning available.
