37th Annual Town Meeting

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 37th Mount Vernon Town Meeting to learn about our community and why we are "The One"!

When: Saturday, February 10, 2024

Where: Mount Vernon High School & Live Virtually on Channel 16, the County's Livestream and Facebook

Times: 7:45 a.m. - 9:30 - Exhibit Hall Open

             9:30 a.m. - Noon - Speakers, Audience Q&A’s and Virtual Tour

             12:15 - 1:30 p.m. - Taste of Mount Vernon

At the meeting - whether in-person or virtually - attendees had opportunities to meet their Supervisor and many County, state and federal leaders. Had their questions answered, learned about issues important to you and connected with County agencies and service providers at our very popular Exhibit Hall (in-person only). The highlight of the meeting was the "virtual tour" of the District, with your helicopter guide Supervisor Dan Storck. Following the program attendees enjoyed a Taste of Mount Vernon with samples of food from restaurants in the District.

The Fairfax County Health Department will be offering an Influenza vaccine clinic. Services offered during the event will include:

  • Influenza vaccinations for adults and children, 6 months of age and up.

    • The quantity of vaccines will be limited.

    • Vaccination may be provided at no cost, if eligibility criteria is met.

    • For seniors, only the traditional flu vaccine will be available; no High Dose vaccine will be offered.

  • Public Health Nurses will be onsite to answer your questions about childhood and adult vaccines.

  • Administrative Staff will be onsite to assist in scheduling other immunization appointments at a Fairfax County Health Department Clinic.

The Town Meeting will stream live on Channel 16, Facebook and YouTube. You can ask questions during the Q & A sessions by emailing us or commenting on Facebook. Have plans for Saturday and want to watch it later? The video will remain on Facebook and Youtube for viewing at your convenience and replay on Channel 16. The broadcast will have Spanish closed captioning available.
