The 10th Annual Tour de Mount Vernon is dedicated to our friend and inspiration, Dave Evans.

Thank you to those who joined us for the 10th Annual Tour de Mount Vernon community bike ride on Saturday October 18, 2025, starting and ending at the Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House.

We enjoyed a scenic ride through the northern and central parts of the Mount Vernon District! Riders visited the Potomac Banks partners while exploring the hidden gems of our community. 

TdMV Ride Registration Information:

  • Early Bird Special until September 5: Fee is $30 per rider. Registration includes limited edition 10th anniversary Tour de Mount Vernon tie-dye socks, discount coupon to Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House, sweet potato chili lunch from La Prima Catering and a $5 donation to Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling.
    Registration from September 6-October 18: Fee is $35 per rider. Registration includes discount coupon to Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House, sweet potato chili lunch from La Prima Catering, a $5 donation to Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling and MAY include limited edition 10th anniversary Tour de Mount Vernon tie-dye socks, while supplies last.

NOTE: New: All Long Route fees include a $3 donation to Fort Belvoir MWR - Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation program.

FAQ

  1. NO REFUNDS due to event cancellation or if the purchaser did not attend the event. Event is rain or shine.
  2. NO TRANSFERS of registration to other riders. 
  3. TdMV ride only: Children 15-17 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Experienced riders only.
  4. Helmets are required for all rides, no exceptions.
  5. Liability waiver is required and will be completed during registration.
  6. Bathrooms can be found in Woodlawn, the rest stop, and at key site locations along the route. 

TdMV Routes: 

Short Route: 20 miles

Long Route: 40 miles

Important Update: Long Route (40 Miles) Pre-Vetting Closed
Pre-vetting for the 40-mile long route CLOSED on October 10. Only riders with existing military base access will be permitted to enter Fort Belvoir without prior pre-vetting. 
If you plan to ride the long route and do not have access, you can bypass the Fort Belvoir section by turning right onto Backlick Road to continue the ride.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Fort Belvoir’s pre-vetting deadline was established in advance to meet required security protocols.

Long Route Fort Belvoir Pre-Vet Access: If you plan to ride on Fort Belvoir, you MUST send your ID information to Cassidy.Donaghy@FairfaxCounty.gov or call 703-780-7518 by Friday, October 10 at noon. Please bring your identification with you on ride day. If you don't send your information you must either bring a Real ID or 2 forms of identification with you on the ride and wait to be vetted at the gate to enter Fort Belvoir.
